La vie en miniature

Hello guys,
i'm very very sorry, but i really hadn't got the time to spend it on on my new wacom... even hadn't got the time to do anything with it (upgrading to win 8.1; installing cs6 - or is it cs5 ???) but i try to use this crappy placeholder and upload my piece when there are better times.

edit:
here is my picture. don't ask... :-)

Sincerely yours,
wulle

whalegirl

ok, this one just emerged from my canvas. don't know why or what its deeper meaning is but here it is anyway.

hello fellows,

last weekend i visited a funny little 'exhibition' with the title "roccoco en miniature". it was quiet interesting, to get an impression, you can have a look here: http://rococoenminiature.heidecksburg.de/

"la vie en miniature" - feel free to interpretate it...

greetings!

PS: deadline will be 11th of november

Kids Cartoon! Mojo Jojo

Well, I haven't painted anything lately and it took me a while to start this one.
I was painting something different but was not happy with it, so I started today from scratch.
Hope you still like it.

" Now, if you'll excuse me, I, Mojo Jojo, have a town to take over. I have a world to conquer. I have to seize control of an area and force its inhabitants to follow my way of thinking. "

Roadrunner

Has been a tough decision which one to paint... I had a lot of Cartoon Series I liked to watch! But in my early days I really loved the Looney Tunes -and the Roadrunner has always been my favorite!

Selfportrait

So here it goes :)

Painted in Painter 12.

And for the heck of it (...and f*ck y*u that's why) I added a "not-yourself portrait", I did to test painter. I liked the final piece so I thought I should share.
I used reference photos for both of them.

Selfportrait

Here we go with the Selfportrait... although I decidet to do it more like a Charicature ;) Most of it have been drawn on my iPad with Sketchbook Pro -but I made the last final strokes in Photoshop. Hope you guys see me in it

19th topic - July 2013

ok guys....finally, the new topic is "Selfportrait".

Deadline is august 19th.

Three Little Pigs

I had the idea with the three little pigs about a year ago -but I just made a quick Photoshop Sketch and never finished it... When I was thinking about the new Topic the picture came up my mind and so it finally came together ;)

18th topic - June 2013

Because it has been a little surprise for me -to be the one who has to post a new topic ;) the next one will be:

Surprise -Motherfucker!

Deadline is Monday 15th of July

Have fun guys :D

And the next Topic goes to...

...yeah, right...
...so, my friends, who's next?

Something's strange, in the neigbourhood!

Hallo my friends,

i did it in the past 2,5 hours. I'm sorry that i haven't got more time for this one.

I hope you like it!
Best regards,
wulle

New Topic is...

... "Something's strange, in the neighbourhood..."

You may refer to the great Movie Blockbuster, but you don't necessarily have to ;-)

Deadline will be on 17th of June. Have fun with it!

Shape

Have to work on my self-confidence... i could have updated it in time, but didn't have the courage to do so :-(
but here it is:

i also had the duck in mind, but didn't worked it out. But i'm glad you did alex ;-)

Duck in a box ;D

I tried a lot of stuff but nothing really worked out
 ... so I made a duck in a box :)

Cloudy... Shape

After some time of flipping and turning I saw the nose of Flint Lockwood in this shape... and so I started painting ;)
Really loved the first Movie -and I am looking forward to see part two!

16th topic or shape - May 2013

Hey fellow monkeys!

The new topic is not a topic it is a SHAPE!
You have to integrate this shape into your picture. It can be part of a character, something inside a landscape, a 3d model with that shape or a shape inside a painting inside a 3d model inside a canvas inside a picture.... you get the idea.
Feel free to rotate and flip the shape.
So here we go:

Deadline is Monday, May 27th.

Have fun!

Rising of the Broccoli

B-Movie Poster

I know this is a little bit Off-Topic because it´s no typical B-Movie... but this is one of the Films, which inspired me the most in my young ages ;) and started my interest in Action Movies and Special Effects

And to be more accurate to the definition of the topic... I made another one :) hope you guys like it!

B-Movie Poster

Postertime

Hey, had so much fun with this one:

New Topic......finally

will be:

B-MOVIE POSTER

Doesn't matter if it's from an existing film or one that you come up with.
I have these classic 50s till 70s ones in mind but that's no strict rule here. Have fun! That's the rule!

Deadline will be Monday -the 6th of May

The Long Way Home

Long Way Home

I tried to paint a space station. Did most of the painting with the software Alchemy.
It is a lot of fun and experimenting, especially without an undo button :).

Long Way Home

Haven't painted a scifi piece for a while. was fun to shake off the dust.

14th topic - March 2013

Hey Guys,

because were getting pretty much into the Character area again ;) the new Topic  will be...

The long way Home

Just to improve our environment skills a little ;)

Deadline will be Monday -the 8th of April

Forced Drawing

I went with Simon to the Life Drawing classes at his College. Unfortunately the model didn´t show up, so we did some speed paintings of the students -all in 3 to 5 minutes... so I think you can call it Forced Drawing ;)

Figure Drawing

As always, i wish i had more time to spent on this topic but at least i can post some quick studies here. But as Alex already said, it reminded me to study figure drawing more often from now on, you just gotta keep kicking yourself in the ass.

Live Drawing

My attempt at Live Drawing. I should probably mention that I'm not the best draughtman in the world, as you can see, but more often than not, it's still a lot of fun for me.

Took about 30 to 45 minutes.

Sorry for the bad quality, but I dont have a scanner and I'm not that used at drawing in photoshop yet. thats why this picture was taken with an iphone.

Figure Drawing

Did several rough sketches and settled for three and added a little shading.
I should really do this more often, to train the eye and hand :)

Forced Drawing (Figure Drawing)

Hi everyone,
I decided to make a quick sculpt based of the beast drawing from Glen Keane.
It Was a lot of fun and I hope you like it.

13th Topic - March 2013

Since I'm striving to be a very good animator one day I chose a topic that's very important in achieving this goal, which is:

 Forced Drawing (Figure Drawing)

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, please check the works of the following artists:

Michael Mattesi
Glen Keane
Jin Kim

Pictures don't have to be colored (it's even better if they're not), what I think is more important is that you capture the weight, line of action, directional force and so on in a single drawing.

The figures you draw should be naked or semi-naked. Good poses to draw can be found here:

http://artists.pixelovely.com/practice-tools/figure-drawing/

Good luck everybody and I hope this topic is chosen well and interests you the same as me.

PS: Animals are allowed to. Examples can be found on the same site I posted above.

Incredible Machine Iron Giant Edition

Hey fellow monkeys!

I was inspired by the movies Iron Giant and Castle in the Sky for this painting.
Tried my own version of it. Hope you like it.

Incredible Machine

Started really late on this one, by this i mean yesterday actually. Would've liked to develop it a bit further but hey a least i am able to post something. Had a lot of fun experimenting with this peace and learnt a lot of new stuff.

ps: sorry for the huge filesize. couldn't make it any smaller somehow.

The incredibly machine (robot animation)

My first contribution to the blog , I wanted to do something with a katana for a long time and thought this Rig would fit perfectly to the topic.

The Incredible Machine

Because of our long break over the Holidays -I really enjoy painting again ;) I´m working on three pictures right now. So there are some more to come... Here is the first

12th topic - February 2013

Just to make it official ;) the new topic for February is

"The Incredible Machine"

Deadline will be Monday the 25th ...Hope to see many incredible pics :)

New Topic

It's an honour for me to introduce the new topic... well, i have two possible ones, but i'm not sure which one to pick... maybe you all can help me?!

On the one hand, i'd like "The Incredible Machine" - 'cause it's something where you don't necessarily have to paint characters and faces and stuff... again.
On the other hand, i'm having a tough time at the moment, so the other possibility would be "It's not FAIR!!!"

Thanks for helping me with the decision!

PS: Deadline will be February the 17th, i guess?!

something's wrong

Hey Guys,
thats my first painting for the blog, laugh if you must.

And by the way: Hello everybody!

Something´s Wrong

Hey Guys -so here´s my first picture for 2013... hope there are some to follow :) Had a lot of fun with this little sloth! Really put some effort into the lighting, but I think it paid off ;)

11th topic -January 2013

Hello fellow F******! :D The "new" topic is "something´s wrong".
